Burnout proof your practice
Using ACT Principles to Create
a Sustainable Business Model
You have the expertise, the experience, and the empathy.
Preparing to be a therapist did not prepare us to be a marketing geniuses.
While graduate training prepares counselors to deliver effective clinical care, it often leaves gaps in foundational business skills—particularly when it comes to attracting and retaining clients in an ethical and sustainable way. This program bridges that gap by applying the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to the development of a burnout resistant private practice.
Using the ACT Hexaflex as a guiding framework, participants will assess the sustainability of their current business practices, clarify their values and niche, and create aligned clinical policies and marketing strategies. This training offers both reflective and practical tools to support counselors in building practices that are not only clinically effective, but also congruent with their long term professional wellbeing.

I’m a licensed therapist and owner of Novel Counseling in Franklin, TN. As a fresh grad, I jumped into offering DBT and thrived with high acuity clients. National Speaker
Work/Life balance is a common issue discussed in my sessions…so common that I saw a need for corporations and associations to have open discussions about mental health in the workplace. Companies like Dell, Axios, SHRM, and News Channel 5 Nashville have trusted me to share honest truths about burnout recovery and productivity guilt.

Founder: Nine to Kind
I took committed action in 2022 to begin building a planner brand that focused on everything BUT productivity. Lauren created a planning system that helps you find your way into more compassion, flexibility and possibilities. Nine to Kind was built with those who are doing the most in mind. The planner—and most importantly the community—was brought together to be a space where we could all feel supported and understood.
